  • Pattern of the exam: There are two main stages of the IBPS Clerk exam. You have to qualify in both the stages to be eligible for the clerical post. 
  • Preliminary Exam: The Preliminary is the first stage of the IBPS Clerk exam. It will be an online exam which will test the candidates on the basis of their intellect, English and aptitude. There are three different sections of the preliminary exam. The time limit for each section is 20 minutes. In order to clear this exam, you have to score the qualifying marks in the prelims. The qualifying mark is decided by the IBPS.

You have to qualify in each of the sections of the paper. The cut-off mark for each section will be decided by IBPS.

  • Mains Examination: The second stage of the IBPS Clerk Exam is the mains examination. There will be 190 questions in the mains examination. The time duration is 160 minutes.

You should answer the questions carefully because there is a negative marking for each and every wrong answer.  The marks scored in the preliminary exam will not be considered for your final selection. You have to qualify for the mains exam to make it to the final merit list.

  • Syllabus of the IBPS Clerk exam: If you want to crack the IBPS exam, you should be familiar with the syllabus. It will also give a general overview of the various topics covered in the syllabus. Once you know the syllabus, you will be able to execute your plans accordingly. Prepare a list of the important topics and start working on them.
